So, You've Inherited OT Security
2026-10-23 –, Walnut

OT (Operational Technology) security is frequently handed to an IT security team with little to no training in how or why it's different.
Come learn:
- What is OT?
- Why can't I just use IT security tools?
- What is the right way to secure them?

No equipment needed; only curiosity!

Joe Lobdell is an OT cybersecurity leader focused on securing the systems where cyber risk meets the physical world. He currently leads OT cybersecurity architecture at AM General, where his work spans industrial network architecture and segmentation, risk management, incident response, and building practical security programs for manufacturing environments. His background includes security engineering and consulting across both IT and OT environments, with experience applying frameworks including NIST, IEC 62443, and CIS Controls. Joe holds a degree in Cybersecurity from Bellevue University and a graduate certificate in ICS/OT Security from SANS Institute. He is particularly interested in making OT security approachable for practitioners who suddenly find themselves responsible for environments that don’t behave anything like traditional IT.
